List each quotation, citation, pincite, and proposition in the draft. Identify the source version used so page references can be reproduced.

Do not rely on quotation marks generated by a model as evidence that the wording is exact.

Compare the text directly

Open the source and check words, punctuation where material, omissions, and inserted brackets. Preserve the original passage in the review record.

If the source format uses different pagination, identify the correct reference for the citation form being used.

Test a misleading omission

Suppose an ellipsis removes a qualification limiting a rule to particular facts. The remaining words may be exact while the quotation gives a misleading impression.
