Define the investment perimeter

An Egypt investment review may cover several entities, sites, and activities. Obtain the transaction perimeter before reviewing a folder of permits and approvals.

Record the proposed business activity and any planned change. Existing evidence may answer the current operation without resolving the future transaction.

Index the supplied documents

Capture issuing body, holder, reference, activity, location, issue date, validity wording, and conditions. Preserve source images and relevant translations.

Do not use one approved status for an entire entity when the documents cover different activities or premises.

Test a site mismatch

Suppose a licence refers to one address while the operational summary lists another site. Record the discrepancy and request the evidence connecting the locations.

Do not conclude automatically that the activity is unlawful. Ask the responsible local adviser to assess the applicable framework and facts.

Connect official research

Use GAFI's official investment-law materials and the relevant issuing authority's current requirements as research starting points. Check amendments and implementing instruments where relevant.

The legal assessment should identify the precise requirement and application. A generic investment-law summary does not establish the status of every licence in the file.

Prepare the diligence exceptions

List missing documents, scope discrepancies, conditions, and questions for local counsel. Assign an owner and transaction consequence to each material issue.

Save the evidence accepted to close an item. The final report should state what was reviewed and what remains subject to confirmation.
